Hoyer has a pretty horrendous staff (in terms of # of complete assholes), I guess being biz dem he is a good balance to Pelosi, who being a San Fran dem, has this crazy notion of children deserving health care, fair wages, and allowing women the right to have control of their bodies…
I’d love to have seen Harold Ford stay in the house and run for this position. George Miller would be great too… although unfortunately the image of two cali-progressives might not be the best for the party. Obey is another one… but i don’t see why he’d give up the power of approps chair to become leader. DeLauro is also awesome but this is America and having two women lead the party might be a couple years ahead of most people’s thinking. Also a ‘good american guy’ from a republican leaning seat might not be a bad idea…. someone like Chet Edwards or Gene Taylor but unfortunately their hands are tied due to district level politics.
